Without proper and planned maintenance things can go dramatically wrong in the workplace. It is estimated that 10-15% of fatal accidents at work and 15 20% of all accidents are related to maintenance. Something has to be done about this and our Campaign will therefore focus on raising the awareness of the risks associated with maintenance activities, promoting good practice in maintenance activities and supporting EU and Member State policies, activities and initiatives in this area. Palma | 30/07/2010 Un hombre de 43 años y de nacionalidad suiza ha fallecido este viernes, mientras que una mujer de la misma nacionalidad ha resultado herida con pronóstico reservado tras chocar su vehículo descapotable contra un camión en la Vía de Cintura de Palma, concretamente, en la rotonda del Carrefour, ubicada en la calle General Riera, según han informado fuentes de los Servicios de Emergencias del 112 y el 061. El accidente ha tenido lugar a las 10.30 horas, cuando, por causas que se desconocen, el vehículo ha colisionado contra el camión quedando ambos ocupantes del coche atrapados en el vehículo descapotable que quedó volcado en el asfalto a consecuencia del fuerte impacto. Inmediatamente, se trasladaron al lugar los bomberos de Palma, que procedieron a sacar a los dos ocupantes del vehículo, si bien el hombre ya había fallecido cuando fue excarcelado de entre el amasijo de hierros, mientras que la mujer se encontraba herida y fue ayudada a salir del coche. Al lugar de los hechos, también se desplazó una UVI Móvil que sólo pudo confirmar la muerte del varón, mientras que trasladó a la mujer a la Clínica Juaneda, donde ha ingresado con heridas de carácter reservado.
