Aftermath of Fatal Crash – PU Truck, Semi: Vehicle Recovery, Investigation

A crash involving a semi and a pickup resulted in the death of the 83 year old driver of the pickup. The driver of the semi appeared to be uninjured. As a result of the crash on US 84 near Ashford, Al, both vehicles came to a stop in a muddy ditch. Two heavy duty wreckers were required to pull the 80000 semi back onto the road. One wrecker stabilized the trailer while another pulled the rig forward. The front wheels on the tractor were immovable due to damage from the impact. Some of the wheels were unlocked by attaching an air line to the rig. Alabama State Troopers are conducting a death investigation. The Alabama Department of Transportation was quickly on the scene to replace a stop sign destroyed by the crash. The Ashford Fire and Police Department remained on the scene to assist with traffic control.

Palma | 30/07/2010 Un hombre de 43 años y de nacionalidad suiza ha fallecido este viernes, mientras que una mujer de la misma nacionalidad ha resultado herida con pronóstico reservado tras chocar su vehículo descapotable contra un camión en la Vía de Cintura de Palma, concretamente, en la rotonda del Carrefour, ubicada en la calle General Riera, según han informado fuentes de los Servicios de Emergencias del 112 y el 061. El accidente ha tenido lugar a las 10.30 horas, cuando, por causas que se desconocen, el vehículo ha colisionado contra el camión quedando ambos ocupantes del coche atrapados en el vehículo descapotable que quedó volcado en el asfalto a consecuencia del fuerte impacto. Inmediatamente, se trasladaron al lugar los bomberos de Palma, que procedieron a sacar a los dos ocupantes del vehículo, si bien el hombre ya había fallecido cuando fue excarcelado de entre el amasijo de hierros, mientras que la mujer se encontraba herida y fue ayudada a salir del coche. Al lugar de los hechos, también se desplazó una UVI Móvil que sólo pudo confirmar la muerte del varón, mientras que trasladó a la mujer a la Clínica Juaneda, donde ha ingresado con heridas de carácter reservado. FALMOUTH, MA- Fatal Motorcyclist vs. Truck Accident (08-06-10)

FALMOUTH – An East Falmouth man flown to a Boston hospital after his motorcycle crashed into a pickup truck this morning in Falmouth has died, officials said this afternoon. Police said Alan Hurwitz, 52, died this afternoon of injuries sustained when his motorcycle crashed into a pickup truck at the intersection of Turner and Thomas B. Landers roads at about 8 am Following the accident Hurwitz was flown to Massachusetts General Hospital by MedFlight helicopter, but he died a few hours later, according to a Falmouth fire official. According to police, Hurwitz was attempting to turn left from Turner Road onto Thomas B. Landers Road – where the two intersect – when his motorcycle crossed over the yellow line and slammed into the front of an oversized pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction. Police found Hurwitz lying on the ground when they arrived. Hurwitz was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said, but provided no further information about the cause of the accident. Members of the Falmouth Police Department assigned to the Cape Cod Regional Crash Reconstruction Team are still investigating the accident, said police. Fatal Car Accident Footage LCO 9 20 09

On Sunday evening around 6:45 pm a Sawyer Country Deputy says he came upon the scene of an accident on Highway K on the LCO Ojibwe Reservation. Approximately 3 miles east of Northwoods Beach. It appears that the driver of the vehicle was traveling at high speed when they left the right side of the road traveling east and then upon coming back on the road, lost control and spun sideways, then backwards into a tree trapping the driver and two passengers. Two people were extracted and flown to medical facilities by helicopter. The Sawyer County Record as of Sept. 20th is reporting the death of one of the three but not published any names. The accident was in Bass Lake Town, Sawyer Country near Hayward, Wisconsin. The unidentified driver and occupants were reportedly from Illinois. The site is a few hundred feet down from the sight of several other fatal accidents over the course of the last few years.
